Specialty Expertise and Training
Interventional radiology involves using minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat various diseases. Our interventional radiologists detect and treat everything from cancer and heart disease to varicose veins and women’s health conditions.
In addition to the training that all radiologists receive, our interventional radiologists have advanced fellowship training in interventional radiology, plus extensive real-world experience.
Conditions We Treat With Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology is used to treat a variety of conditions. At UT Southwestern, we frequently use these procedures to treat many types of tumors of the liver, kidneys, pancreas, and lungs, as well as metastatic cancer in the liver and lungs.
In addition, our interventional radiologists are experts in the treatment of many women’s health disorders, urologic and biliary obstructions, and gastrointestinal problems. We offer central venous access and dialysis maintenance with readily available appointments for these procedures.
