UT Southwestern Medical Center’s pediatricians deliver the highest standard of care for critically ill children needing intensive treatment. Our physicians working at Children’s Health annually admit and treat more than 2,000 patients, giving the facility one of the highest admission rates in the United States.
Depending on their diagnoses, critically ill children are assigned to one of four pediatric intensive care units (ICUs) at Children’s:
- Cardiovascular ICU
- General medical-surgical pediatric ICU
- Level II pediatric ICU
- Trauma-neurologic injury ICU
A team of medical practitioners then assumes primary responsibility for patient care, drawing on state-of-the-art capabilities for treatment. Each child receives the benefit of a staff of experienced, compassionate physicians and nurse practitioners offering the best in comprehensive care.
