Giant cell arteritis: When a headache might be something more

Abiola Ayorinde-Fadayomi, MSN, APRN, AGNP-BC, is an adult/gerontology nurse practitioner. Ms. Fadayomi became a nurse practitioner because she enjoys helping people and being part of something bigger than herself. Born and raised in Nigeria, she has extensive experience in chronic disease management and has worked in a variety of settings/clinics. She practices joint decision-making and empowers her patients through education and encouragement to take an active role in their health. She is detail-oriented and an advocate for her patients and teammates. She goes home every day knowing she has made a difference in her patients’ lives.
Patients and colleagues describe her as passionate, tenacious, dedicated, and assertive. Ms. Fadayomi is the leader of a GIM task force of faculty and clinical staff that focuses on process improvement within the clinic. Her passion for teaching shows as she precepts nurse practitioner students and medical students who rotate through the GIM clinic. She is also the co-chair of Grand Rounds, where faculty are invited monthly to deliver presentations to GIM providers.
