Douglas Dickson, M.D.

Biography

Douglas Dickson, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in treating spine disorders and complex spinal deformity cases, particularly scoliosis and kyphosis.

Dr. Dickson earned his medical degree at Howard University College of Medicine. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland and a fellowship in complex reconstructive spinal deformity surgery at Washington University/Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.

Dr. Dickson has a passion for taking care of his patients and for participating in medical missions around the world with organizations such as the Foundation of Orthopaedics and Complex Spine (FOCOS).

He has delivered a number of presentations for the Scoliosis Research Society and other organizations, conducted multiple research projects, and published several academic articles.

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, AOSpine, the North American Spine Society, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He has been named a Top Doctor and a Texas Monthly Super Doctors Rising Star on multiple occasions.
