Biography

Dustin Harris, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He specializes in shoulder injuries, knee injuries, and concussions.

Dr. Harris earned his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago Medical Center and received advanced training in sports medicine through a fellowship at the Stanford Health Care O'Connor Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine with a certified added qualification in sports medicine, he joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2020.

Dr. Harris serves as game-day physician for the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars, team physician for Irving High School, and ringside physician for USA Boxing. He previously served as team physician for San Jose State University (Division I), San Jose City College, and Valley Christian High School football teams.

Dr. Harris is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine, and the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine.

He has published numerous academic articles and delivered numerous lectures and presentations.

Personal Note

Dr. Harris’ interests outside of medicine include marathon running and rock climbing.
