Emily H. Adhikari, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at UT Southwestern Medical Center and the Medical Director of Perinatal Infectious Diseases for the Parkland Health and Hospital System. She specializes in maternal-fetal medicine.
Dr. Adhikari earned her medical degree at the UT Southwestern Medical School, where she also completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine.
Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2018.
Dr. Adhikari’s research focuses on improving maternal health outcomes in disadvantaged populations. Her interests include infectious diseases in pregnancy, reducing primary cesarean delivery, and opioid use disorder in pregnancy. She is an ad hoc reviewer for AIDS Patient Care and STDs, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Infectious Diseases, and Obstetrics and Gynecology.
She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, the American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association, the Infectious Diseases Society of America, and the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine.
