Helen King, M.D., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in general infectious diseases, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) care and prevention, sexual health, and sexually transmitted infections.
Dr. King earned her medical degree at Mercer University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in infectious diseases at the University of California San Diego Medical Center.
Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in infectious diseases, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2017.
Dr. King has a strong background in both medical education and clinical outcomes research pertaining to HIV and sexually transmitted infections. She has delivered numerous invited lectures and published peer-reviewed articles on the subjects.
She is a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America, the American College of Physicians, and the HIV Medicine Association. She also serves on the Dallas HIV Fast Track Cities Initiative for Dallas County.
Among other honors, she received the UTSW Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine Teaching Award in 2019.
