Biography

Kathleen Zhang, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the cardiovascular care of patients with cancer (cardio-oncology).

Dr. Zhang earned her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed her residency in internal medicine. She received advanced training in cardiology and cardio-oncology through fellowships at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease and by the National Board of Echocardiography in adult comprehensive echocardiography, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.

Dr. Zhang’s clinical and research interests focus on the cardiovascular care of cancer patients before, during, and after cancer treatment. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and International Cardio-Oncology Society.

The author of numerous academic articles, book chapters, and presentations, Dr. Zhang is co-editor of the Washington Manual of Cardio-Oncology and an associate editor of the International Cardio-Oncology Society Board Review Manual: A Guide to Cardio-Oncology. She serves as an ad-hoc reviewer for several journals, including Heart, Journal of Cardiac Failure, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Cardio-Oncology.
