Kimberly Kho, M.D., M.P.H., is the Associate Chief of Gynecology and Director of the Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
A UT Southwestern faculty member since 2009, Dr. Kho brings her evidence-based, specialized fellowship training to patient care through a holistic and personalized, whole-woman approach. She provides both nonsurgical options and advanced, minimally invasive surgery for benign gynecologic disorders such as fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, pelvic pain, and heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding. Dr. Kho has trained both residents and fellows in these techniques and now brings these skills to the Lowe Foundation Center, which offers the full spectrum of women’s health care services in a private practice setting.
Dr. Kho earned her medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine. She performed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Columbia University Medical Center and then received advanced training through a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at the Atlanta Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and Reproductive Medicine. She also earned a Master of Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health, as well as a Master of Clinical Science with distinction at UT Southwestern.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Kho has been a National Institutes of Health-supported clinical scholar. Her research focuses on optimizing quality of life, accelerating recovery, and reducing complications in the treatment of abnormal bleeding, fibroids, and ovarian masses through best practices and surgical techniques, among other topics.
Dr. Kho also lectures and teaches gynecologists around the world and serves as an expert for several national organizations, including the Food and Drug Administration and the U.S. Department of Health.
“We’re extremely excited that Dr. Kho has agreed to build upon the legacy of the Lowe Foundation Center for Women’s Preventative Health Care, first established by Dr. Karen Bradshaw more than 25 years ago,” says Steven Bloom, M.D., Former Chair, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. “With her energy, creativity, and advanced clinical skills, we’re confident that Dr. Kho will help the Women’s Center become an even more recognized destination for women seeking specialized gynecologic care.”
