Biography
Lauren Tardo, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in multiple sclerosis (MS), myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG) antibody disease, and other rare neuroimmunological disorders.
Dr. Tardo earned her medical degree at the University of Mississippi. She completed a residency in neurology, serving as Chief Resident her final year, and gained advanced training through a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuroimmunology at UT Southwestern.
Certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2019.
Dr. Tardo is Co-Director of the Parkland Memorial Hospital Faculty MS Clinic and the Director of the Neuroimmunology Resident Rotation at UT Southwestern. In addition, she serves on the Brain Summit Continuing Medical Education Planning Committee, the Neurology Residency Clinical Competency Committee, and the Neurology Academic Leadership Committee at UT Southwestern.
She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and serves on the Medical Advisory Board for the MOG Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for people worldwide who are diagnosed with MOG antibody disease.
An investigator for numerous clinical trials, Dr. Tardo’s research interests include clinical treatment trials and access to care for minority and all other MS patient populations.
In 2019, Dr. Tardo received the Stephen Damm Memorial Award for excellence and compassion in patient care from the Department of Neurology at UT Southwestern.
