Helping and Educating
One of the things Dr. Mauck enjoys most about his specialty is that he and his colleagues are able to help a lot of people.
“In urology, we’re able to provide solutions to a lot of common problems,” he says. “We have high success rates for the treatment of bladder cancer, prostate cancer, kidney cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), and kidney stones, for example.”
“I'm happy to have been able to help thousands of people and proud of their resulting low complication rates following treatment,” he says.
Dr. Mauck also stresses the value of educating the people he cares for.
“It’s important to me to involve my patients in their care, show them their films, and really explain what’s going on and what their options are,” he says. “This helps them make the most well-informed treatment decisions and really understand why we’re doing what we’re doing.”
