Biography

Sara Pirzadeh-Miller, M.S., CGC, is the Associate Director of the Cancer Genetics program at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She leads 19 genetic counselors who provide hereditary cancer risk assessment in 5 hospital systems in North Texas, serving more than 5,900 patients annually in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ms. Pirzadeh-Miller received her bachelor of science in genetics (cum laude) from Texas A&M University and her master’s degree from the University of Minnesota in 2005. 

Mrs. Pirzadeh-Miller is the 2024 president-elect and 2025 president of the National Society of Genetic Counselors (NSGC), and she has served in leadership positions on several committees on the state and national levels. She has lectured extensively and published articles on cancer genetics on the local and national level. Her research interests include genetic counseling workforce efficiency, service delivery models, and population screening.
