Susan G. Rodder, M.S., is an Associate Professor in the Department of Clinical Nutrition at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in the nutrition impact on the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease; patient-centered application of practical dietary recommendations; and technology approaches for the sustainability of dietary recommendations.
Ms. Rodder earned her master’s degree in nutrition at Texas Woman's University. Certified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2006.
A registered dietitian in the Preventive Cardiology Program, she serves as course director for rotations in nutrition care and medical nutrition therapy chronic care at UT Southwestern. She's a member of the Texas Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Ms. Rodder is involved in several research projects related to diet and heart health, mobile health (mHealth) technology, and lifestyle changes during cardiac rehabilitation. She has delivered several invited lectures and published numerous academic articles.
In 2019, she received the UT Southwestern School of Health Professions Clinical Excellence Award.
