Level 3 NICU
As a Level 3 NICU, we offer comprehensive onsite care for infants of all gestational weights and ages, as well as treatment for high-risk patients. We also partner with Children’s Medical Center Dallas to provide advanced surgical options for newborns.
Our NICU staff is always available. An NICU team attends all high-risk or C-section deliveries to ensure that both mom and baby receive the specialized care they require.
Fetal Program
Our Fetal Program enables us to provide optimal care for babies with conditions or diseases diagnosed in utero. In these cases, our team of caregivers will consult with parents and the appropriate specialists prior to delivery to create a full plan of care that meets baby’s needs. These multidisciplinary consultations are performed in the Fetal Neonatal Center at Children’s Medical Center.
By monitoring conditions or diseases in utero, we are better equipped to provide the care these babies need when labor begins. The program also provides parents additional time to prepare for their baby’s arrival, tour the NICU, and make any necessary arrangements.
Private NICU Rooms
Clements University Hospital includes 30 private NICU rooms, giving each baby his or her own space that easily accommodates hospital staff and parents.
Unlike other hospitals, ours is designed to keep NICU babies and their parents together as much as possible. Parents appreciate that they can sleep in the room overnight with their newborns – enabling them to focus on their infant and build bonds that will help the baby grow stronger. Research shows that more parental involvement helps babies with weight gain, breastfeeding, and earlier release from the hospital.
When parents have to step away, our special “NICView” camera system allows them to keep an eye on their baby. During resting hours, the NICView camera provides a live video stream of your baby. Your baby’s nurse will give you details on how to access your secure NICView video feed.

The Clements University Hospital NICU is a joint endeavor with Children’s Health Dallas, one of the nation’s leading pediatric hospitals.
Specialists from Children’s help provide full-time support for critical-care cases, and newborns requiring surgery are transferred from Clements to Children’s nearby facility. This allows our NICU patients to benefit from the very best in pediatric health care.
