UT Southwestern video visits allow you to connect with your health care provider through live video and audio on your own device from any location. Your video visit will be conducted by using your smartphone, tablet, or computer to connect to the visit through your MyChart account and our videoconferencing platform.

Video Visit Tools

To complete your video visit, you will need the following:

An Active MyChart Account

Please contact the clinic at which your appointment is scheduled if you are not certain about your MyChart account status.

A Compatible Device

A device, such as a smartphone (iOS, Android), tablet (iOS, Android), desktop, or laptop with an attached or built-in camera and microphone.

An Internet Connection

A connection to the internet with adequate bandwidth.

Day of Your Scheduled Video Visit Steps

Step 1

Log in to your MyChart account through your preferred device within 30 minutes of your scheduled appointment time.

Step 2

Select the "Visits” icon.

Step 3

Select the appropriate scheduled video visit.

Step 4

Select and complete the Pre Check-In process (if you have not previously done so).

Step 5

Select the “Begin Video Visit” icon.

Step 6

The videoconferencing platform will launch.

Step 7

Enable the microphone and video functionality.

Step 8

You will enter the virtual waiting room until your health care provider joins.

Tips for a Successful Video Visit

• Enable pop-ups for your default internet browser
• Make sure the volume on your device is turned up
• Make sure your microphone is not on mute
• Plug in or fully charge your device before the Video Visit
• Close out unnecessary programs or applications 
• Find a quiet and private space in a well-lit room
• Prepare questions and take notes during the Video Visit
